Membership Renewals OCTOBER 1st 2021

Dear LSRC member,

Well, 2020/21 is certainly a year we may all wish to forget! We hope you are all keeping well and managing to keep fit and healthy despite the 8 months that our club was forced to remain closed in the last 12.

Today is the 1st day of the Club’s new financial year and it feels great to be fully open with the club getting busier each day!

We are of course extremely grateful to the many members who have stepped up to assist in getting us where we are today. Many will continue to assist until we can recruit some staff as the club simply won’t function without certain jobs being done each week. We will be writing out soon with other ways that we hope members may like to assist us in the short term if they don’t perhaps have much time to spare.

As you will all be aware following the recent EGM, our club received almost no income during the last 12 months as subscriptions and direct debits were frozen. This has left us in a rather cash-strapped position and one which we must rectify quickly if we are to remain viable.

With that in mind, the club will restart collection of monthly membership fees paid by Direct Debit on or shortly after 15th October. The amount will be the same as previously collected. For those that pay annually we will also be moving you all to monthly Direct Debit and will be in touch shortly to request your bank details.

One major change that was discussed at the recent EGM is the club’s move to an all-inclusive membership for everyone, hopefully from November 1st. This will be a simple monthly charge that will include as much court usage (excluding Gym members) as you like which we hope may also encourage a greater use of the club’s facilities. Further details will follow, but rest assured most people will benefit from this change and it will bring the club in line with many other sports clubs, making our club membership offer more marketable too.

Finally, can we thank you for your ongoing support of the club. We do need everyone to make full use of our facilities and bar whenever possible as the cost to maintain a smart and welcoming club relies totally on the funds generated by everyone availing themselves of our club’s great facilities and subsidised bar.
