New club treasurer

We would like to let everyone know about a change to one of the key roles within the club.
After taking on the role of Treasurer in 2022, Nick Clark has decided to step down, and we welcome Kevin Higgs as our new Treasurer.

We feel it is important to recognise and thank Nick for his notable contribution as Treasurer since 2022. Taking on the Treasurer's role at a time when the club was emerging from the challenges of COVID was no small task. Thanks to Nicks financial knowledge, careful management and countless hours of hard work, Nick has helped guide the club from a difficult financial position to the healthy and stable one. His influence has gone far beyond balancing the books. Nick has been someone the committee could turn to for honest advice, sensible guidance and a calm, measured opinion. His experience and understanding of the club have been invaluable, to move the club forward.

Nick's contribution to the club stretches back much further than his time as Treasurer. As a former Chairman, he was instrumental, alongside the committee at the time, in raising the finances needed to build the two championship show courts, which remain a real showcase for the club. Nick has always been the first to volunteer for repair jobs around the club, whether tackling maintenance and repairs, lending his technical expertise, or simply being the first to put his hand up when something needs doing. He has always been willing to give his time, skills and energy for the benefit of the club.
While Nick is stepping away from the committee, we're pleased that he remains a valued member and knowing Nick, we're sure he'll still be around to offer the occasional bit of advice, lend a hand when needed and, possibly over a beer.

We welcome Kevin Higgs as he takes on the role of Treasurer. Kevin has the financial expertise, enthusiasm and commitment to continue the excellent work that Nick has done. There are certainly big shoes to fill, but Kevin is up to the challenge as we continue building a strong future for the club.

Finally, on behalf of the entire committee, thank you, Nick. Your hard work and commitment over the years have made a lasting difference to this club.
